Have no car = need new dentist?

So, this whole “not having a car thing” is rippling into other things. The current struggle is whether to change dentists. I have been going to Enspire Dental, formerly Farah & Associates, for several years now. Well, they’re out on Liberty and not on a bus line, so I pretty much can’t get to them without renting a car or riding my bike or begging a ride. Seems like it might be simpler to move to a more local dentist. Must be some in/around downtown Ann Arbor. Anyone got a recommendation?

I’m not sure if she’s close enough for you, but Dr. Embree is on Stadium, a little before Wastenaw and Stadium intersect and a bit after Tappin middle school. Here’s her website: http://www.embreedentistry.com

I also see a dentist in the Stadium/Washtenaw intersection area (Dr. Griffith). It is easy to get there on the #4 AATA bus (and if you like to walk, it is about 40 minutes to central campus on foot). The Dental Faculty Associates are located in the dental school (this is full price, not the less expensive dental students). I have only gone there for specialists, not for a checkup, but I found them to be very good. They were willing to explain things in more detail, consider alternate explanations, and indulge my curiosity as a scientist in a different field from theirs.

I remember meeting you in grad school in the bio dept — glad to find your blog!

We’ve used the Heys family of dentists on Stadium near S Industrial for many years. Two of them also teach at the School of Dentistry. And another plus is that they do have some evening hours.
