Baby Blanket

October 28, 2007 by Dunrie

Roth-O'Neal baby blanket
I finally finished my gift for Chris & Victoria’s daughter. I missed the Baby Shower, but I did get the blanket complete before the baby arrived.

Details: old shale pattern: 8 row repeat. Repeat of 14 stitches +1 to end the pattern. Turned out to be 2′ x 3′. Knit on 4mm needles.

R1: [K1 tbl (through back of loop), K13,] repeat to desired number (this case: 18 total), K1 tbl

R2: P1 tbl, P13, repeat to desired number, P1 tbl

R3: [K1 tbl, K4 together, (yo – yarn over, K1) x5, yo, K4 together tbl,] repeat to desired number, K1 tbl

R4: repeat R2

R5: repeat R1

R6: repeat R2

R7: repeat R3

R8: repeat R1 (knit “wrong side” for raised row on front)

Yarn: El. D. Mouzakis butterfly mercerized cotton, double-knit. I have knit many baby blankets with this soft and slightly shimmery yarn that comes in many vibrant colors. Buy it at Busy Hands, Ann Arbor, MI.
