Reach your customers where and when they are looking for you via content marketing. Good content is relevant, useful, and original information. It can take many forms including prose, illustrations, photos, and video.
With good content, search engine optimization (SEO) and social media marketing flow easily. Without good content, SEO and social media marketing fall flat.
How to Be Found
Research (Competition and Keywords)
Content marketing starts with research. We review your competition and how you describe your products and services.
Next, we do keyword research to make sure the words you use to describe your products, services, and benefits match the words people use to search.
Then, we meet to choose your target keywords.
Content Marketing Plan (Scope and Schedule)
Once we have our targets, we make the content plan. This content plan includes an editorial calendar to
- add more descriptive text and illustrations to existing pages on your site,
- add new pages to the site to address content gaps,
- <optional>create and publish an ebook, and
- optimize site pages for the target keywords.
Implement (Create and Share Content)
Before we publish new content, we set the stage with two additional actions. We
- remove any technical barriers to the content being discovered or read
- and double-check the website and marketing analytics. We must be able to track our progress.
Then we create the content. Writing, editing, graphic design and/or video production come together to tell the stories about how you help your customer.
Content creation is not enough, however. It must be shared and promoted via marketing campaigns.
Replan – Iterate!
As we implement the plan, we evaluate our progress.
We monitor against our goals (such as visibility, web traffic, actions taken by web visitors such as form submissions or phone calls). Then we review and perhaps retouch our editorial calendar and content marketing plan.
No plan is perfect, replanning and learning from progress is essential.
